The Department of Economics was created at the Rudny Industrial Institute in 1993 on the basis of the Department of Economics, Organization and Management and is a graduate in the specialty “Economics”, “Management”. Over the years, teachers of the department have trained more than 1,500 specialists in the field of economics and management.
The Department of Economics and Management is actively conducting research work.

The relevance of the research is determined by the development priorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the region, the scientific interests of scientists.
The department carries out regional studies under the supervision of the vice-rector for research and development, Doctor of Economics Bozhko L.L. In 2018-2019. under the leadership of Bozhko L.L. fundamental and applied research in the field of socio-economic and humanities is being carried out “Improving the policy of state regulation of accelerated clustering of industrial regions” in the framework of grant financing of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Under the leadership of Bozhko L.L. The teaching staff of the department has been successfully carried out under the grant funding of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, research on the following topics:
– “A study of the features of the integrated socio-economic development of single-industry towns of border territories under the functioning of the Common Economic Space of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus”;
– “Development of theoretical and methodological foundations of corporate governance of a technical regional university in the conditions of industrial and innovative development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
A study of entrepreneurship in the Republic of Kazakhstan is also being carried out under the guidance of Ph.D., associate professor V. Zarubina.
Under the leadership of Lukmanova MB a study is being conducted on the formation of institutional conditions for the functioning of the innovation-oriented economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The teaching staff is actively engaged in research work and improves their skills.
Associate Professor, Ph.D. Bozhko L.L. in 2011 completed her doctoral studies at the Ural State Economic University (Ural State Economic University – SINH, Ekatirenburg, Russia) and successfully defended her thesis for the degree of Doctor of Economics.
In November 2014, associate professor of the Department of Economics and Management, Doctor of Economics, Bozhko L.L. became the owner of a scholarship for talented scientists
Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics and Management Akhmetov D.S. graduated in doctoral degree (PhD) from the University of Narkhoz them. T. Ryskulova and in 2017 defended a thesis for the degree of Doctor PhD in the specialty “Management”.
In February 2015 Associate Professor, Department of Economics and Management, Ph.D. Sargaeva N.Yu. became the winner of the competition for the award of the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan-the Leader of the Nation, awarded the title of Laureate of the Prize of the Fund of the First President in the field of science and technology.
The faculty of the department conduct joint research work with leading scientists of the Ural State Economic University (Russian Federation), Harbin University of Commerce (China), Wismar University of Technology, Business and Design (Germany), Adelaide University (Australia), and National Research University Higher School Economics ”(Moscow, Russia), South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk, Russia); Magnitogorsk State Technical University. G.I. Nosova (Magnitogorsk, Russia).
Every year, the arsenal of achievements of students-economists and managers is replenished with diplomas of international competitions, diplomas of the Republican competitions of student innovative, research projects and works, such as the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum, “From idea to implementation, one step”, “AEF virtual forum” , “The Golden Book of Youth of the Kostanay region”, “Fund of the First President.”
In 2010, for the first time, on-line students and undergraduates of the department represented the Republic of Kazakhstan at the scientific symposium “Forming a healthy lifestyle in the youth environment”, organized by the Ural State University of Economics (Russian Federation) with the participation of representatives of universities in China and the Czech Republic.
In order to implement the multilingual policy of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev is working on the organization of training in Kazakh, Russian and English according to the developed program.
It has already become a good tradition of the Department to hold an annual intra-university competition of innovative business projects and ideas, at which representatives of state authorities, as well as banking and business structures of our city are present as members of the jury. And the best business projects of students get a real opportunity to come true. The department has an Alliance of Students and Entrepreneurs, in the work of which all teachers are involved. In 2018, the student project “On the city on bicycles” was successfully implemented. Development of startup projects is ongoing.
In 2011, according to the results of the Republican student subject Olympiad in economic specialties, the team of the Rudny Industrial Institute consisting of 4 year students: Zamanova R.R., Eliseeva Yu.P. and Mamedova I.G. took 3rd place in the specialty “Economics” and was awarded a diploma of 3 degrees of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2013, according to the results of the V Republican student subject Olympiad in economic specialties, the team of the Rudny Industrial Institute consisting of a 4th year student Sereda TS and third-year students Shainova O.F. and Uruskaev R.R. took 3rd place in specialty 5B050600 “Economics” and was awarded a diploma of 3 degrees of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Student Uruskaev R.R. According to the results of testing, he was awarded the title of “Best Economist”.
In 2016, a team of students Klevan V.A., Lykova V.S. Sansyzbaeva M.M. took 2nd place in the Republican student subject Olympiad in economic specialties and was awarded a diploma of 2 degrees of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In the framework of the TEMPUS project, in 2008-2010, in the experimental mode, the master’s program “International Strategic Integration Management for Small and Medium Enterprises” was implemented; Under the program “Exchange for students”, a fourth-year student A. Frolov was trained at Wismar University of Technology, Business and Design (Germany).
In the framework of the Erasmus + project, in 2015-2018, the project “Development and implementation of the master’s program“ Green Logistic Management: Promotion of Trans-European Accessibility through Sustainable Logistic Management and ICT Competence ”was successfully implemented.
In 2011-2017 students of the specialty “Economics”, “Management” took part in the Olympiad in economic disciplines held by the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) (Moscow, Russian Federation), based on the results of the competitive selection, our graduates I. Mamedov , Frolov A. and Andreeva A., Kozhepyanov A., Nikolaev E., Bolonina E., Smirnov A., Nauruzova A. entered the HSE magistracy in budget places. Graduate Konishcheva T. was admitted to the budget place as a graduate of the Ural State Economic University (Ural State Economic University – SINH, Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation)
Students of Volegova Anastasia and Bologna Evgenia, taking part in the international competition of research work of students from the CIS and Baltic countries, conducted by the Higher School of Economics NRU, took 1st place – awarded with diplomas.
In 2012, participating in the republican competition of scientific works of students “Scientists of the Future”, held by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, student Nikolaev Evgeny took 1st place (awarded with a diploma and a medal), in 2015. Shabaldas Anastasia became the winner of this competition, in 2017 Alena Deryabin became the winner of the competition.
Students actively participate in international research competitions. In 2012 Nikolaev Evgeny took part in the Fifteenth All-Russian Forum of Young Scientists “Territorial Competitiveness” and won the prize 5th place (RF, Ural State University of Economics), in 2014. in this competition, the prize 4 place was taken by Uruskaev Ramiel and Shabaldas Anastasia, in 2015. prize 5 place – Sansyzbaeva Marzia.
On April 16-19, 2019, the X Eurasian Economic Youth Forum was held at the Ural State Economic University (Yekaterinburg). The theme of the forum is “Russia-Asia-Africa-Latin America: the economy of mutual trust.” Within the framework of the Forum, 5 congresses were held: congress of economists, innovators, financiers, service technologies, schoolchildren; 30 contests; olympiads; open lectures of leading world and domestic diplomats, scientists and business practitioners.
The finalist of this competition was Diana Rusakova, a student of our institute, a student of the Ek-17 group of the specialty “Economics”, who, under the direction of Ph.D. in the Republic of Kazakhstan. ” According to the results of the international competition of scientific works of young scientists and students in the direction “Assessment of the regulatory impact in public administration” Diana took 2nd place, was awarded the Diploma of the II degree and the order of the Eurasian Economic Youth Forum.
In 2019, the student of the Economics specialty Rusakova D. became the winner of the international competition of the best reports of the student conference held by the Kuban Technological University (Krasnodar).
The winner of the Universiade “Path to Success” in the direction of “Actual Management Issues”, conducted by G.I. Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University in 2019, was Sabina Tagina, a student of the Mn-15 group of the specialty “Management”.
To implement the academic mobility of students, work is being done with domestic and foreign universities. Within the framework of the agreement on academic mobility with the Higher School of Economics Research University (Moscow, Russia), 6 fourth-year students of the OP Economics in 2011, 2 third-year students underwent training at this educational institution, 2 second year students in 2015.
In 2018, 3-year students A. Shornikova, J. Konysbaeva J. under the Erasmus + Green Logistics project underwent an internship at Tallinn University of Technology.
In 2019, a 4th year student of the specialty “Management” N. Zhanabaev is studying in the framework of academic mobility at the Riga Technical University, at the Kuban State Technological University a second-year student of the specialty “Economics” K. Vasilchenko
Lukmanova Marina Borisovna, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics and Management, Ph.D. in Economics, made a presentation “DoesSocialCapitalAffectDemandforGovernmentRegulationinKazakhstan” at the world-class scientific conference CESS 2019 AnnualConference held at George Washington University in Washington, USA, October 10-13, 2019 . This conference is organized by the Central Eurasian Studies Society https://www.centraleurasia.org/)and is designed to facilitate communication and interaction between scientists and, thereby, promote high standards and training in Central Eurasia; foster collaboration between individuals and research organizations. 380 speakers from around the world specializing in Central Asian studies spoke at the conference.
To receive an invitation to speak at the CESS 2019 Annual Conference, it is necessary to conduct serious scientific research and obtain results that are significant for science. Having considered the application Lukmanova M/B/ for participation, the scientific committee of the conference considered the results of its research worthy of this. Being a scientific internship in the United States, Marina Borisovna took part in such conferences in 2012 and 2013, so she was able to adequately present her research. The participation of our teacher in a conference of this level is important, as it not only allows us to advance its research, but also raises the prestige of the Rudny Industrial Institute and Kazakhstan in the eyes of the world scientific community.

In October 2019, our Institute celebrated its 60th anniversary. On October 17-18, the anniversary international scientific-practical conference “Modern innovations in the field of science, technology and the integration of knowledge” took place, in which the teaching staff of the department took an active part.
In the section “Economic, social and spiritual renewal in the context of neo-industrial and innovative development”, 26 reports were presented.
